📍Ideal Placement to Optimize Earnings

  • Open & elevated: At least 5 ft off the floor on a shelf or wall, away from metal cabinets or thick concrete.
  • Central viewpoint: Aim toward the busiest area of your business (lobby, large indoor space).
  • Avoid obstructions: Keep clear of other electronics, microwaves, or stacked boxes.

📦 What's in the Box

  1. Meshly indoor hotspot
  2. 6 ft (2 m) Ethernet cable
  3. Power adapter
  4. Mounting Bracket

⚡️ Power & Network Options

Standard Power Adapter (default)

  • This is the fastest plug‑and‑play setup. Use this method when the hotspot can be placed close to both your internet router and a wall outlet. It requires two cables: one for power and one for Ethernet data.âś… Best for: Simple installs where the ideal placement is near your existing networking gear.⚠️ Keep in mind: Sometimes, the optimal coverage spot might be across the room or further away from outlets/your existing router. If that's the case, see the POE option below or request a longer Ethernet cable from us—we'll ship one for free.
  • Plug the power adapter into a wall outlet.
  • Connect the Ethernet cable from your router/LAN switch to the hotspot's ETH port.
  • Need a longer Ethernet run to get the hotspot in an ideal location? Just let us know the length (up to 100 ft/30 m) and we'll send a cable at no cost.

Power over Ethernet (PoE) Injector (optional)

  • This method allows you to power the hotspot and provide data over a single Ethernet cable, making it ideal when the best placement is far from a wall outlet or router. You'll just need a PoE injector and a longer Ethernet cable, which we're happy to provide at no cost, just ask your Meshly rep.

    1. Run one Ethernet cable from your router to the injector, and another from the injector to the hotspot.
    2. Benefits: cleaner cable run, no nearby outlet needed. Often allows for better placement and connectivity.
    3. Need one? Text/email your Meshly rep, and we'll ship it free of charge.

🛠️ Mounting

Mounting your hotspot correctly maximizes coverage, keeps cables tidy, and suits your space's rules. Choose the option below that best balances permanence, ease, and landlord‑friendliness:

1) Screw‑mount Bracket
(included) Permanent, Best for: high‑traffic areas, Strongest hold on textured walls/ceilings

2) Shelf / Flat Surface, Best for: Quick tests or frequent moves Zero effort, but it can be easily damaged, stolen, or bumped.

  • Screw‑mount Bracket

You can install the bracket in one of two ways depending on your preferred orientation.

Option A – Flat Wall Mount (hotspot flush with wall):

    You will need:

    1. Remove the two small screws on either side of the hotspot's back panel.
    2. Insert the included small black circular mounting posts into the holes.
    3. Re‑insert the screws through the posts to secure them.
    1. Attach the bracket to the wall or ceiling with the included screws/drywall anchors, then slide the hotspot's mounted posts into the bracket until it clicks into place.
    1. Here is a view of the bracket attached to the hotspot for reference.

    Option B – Bottom Mount

This option is best for ceiling mounts where you want to face the hotspot towards a busy area.

    1. Attach the bracket to the bottom of the hotspot (no screws necessary it slides into place).
    2. Hold the bracket at the desired location and mark the two holes.
    3. Attach the bracket to the wall with the included screws/drywall anchors.

    Shelf / Flat Surface

    1. Place the hotspot flat on a stable shelf or cabinet.
    2. Keep it at least 4-5 ft high and clear of metal objects for best coverage.

âś… Verify It's Online

  • During first boot: LEDs might blink as the hotspot auto-updates (about 2-3 min).
  • Ready to go: All four green LEDs solid = online and earning.

Light guide:

  • • No lights = No power
  • • Two lights = No internet (check Ethernet/router or try another Ethernet port)
  • • Four lights = Online

📸 Final Step – Confirm Placement

Once your hotspot is online and in place, please send a quick photo of the installed unit to your Meshly rep via email or text. We'll use this to confirm ideal placement and submit the hotspot to AT&T and T-Mobile for activation.

❓Frequently Asked Questions

  • What Happens Now?

We will submit your hotspot/location to AT&T + T-Mobile for approval. Once they approve your location (3-7 days), AT&T/T-Mobile subscribers will start automatically connecting to the network, and you will start earning!
  • How do I connect to the hotspot?

The hotspot broadcasts a password-protected secure network that you cannot manually connect to. Once approved subscribers from AT&T + T-Mobile simply auto-connect.
  • What if I want to set up a guest network anyone can join?

There is a setting we can turn on to create a separate guest WiFi network without a password that anyone can connect to. However, you won't earn $ for data sent over this network. Just let us know if you would like this enabled.
  • How do I view my earnings/data usage/users?

We have a dashboard that allows you to see how many users are connecting, how much data is being sent, and how much you are earning. You can access your dashboard here: INSERT LINK
